					<description>I agree. I can't see how SEO can be used for any other marketing uses other than using it to generate better page views in the search engines. Sure by getting higher ranked page views it stands to reason that  if that page is marketing a product or service it must stand a better chanceof success than more lowly ranked pages, but SEO itself is not doing the marketing.</description>

					<description>Great insights. I always ignore more than 6 word keywords though as you said I find them too daunting to optimize for.

It could be nice to implement a script which will automatically search the site for a long tail keyword of 5 or so words and return the page accordingly for product based pages instead of random landing.

You can even analyze your logs for long tail keywords (those getting more traffic) and create special landing pages for them and direct the visitors to those pages without breaking the real page which has the long tail.</description>
